A 90 minutes interview with members of The Diplomats, this has very interesting info about studio time with producers as Young Guru, Just Blaze & Kanye West.

What’s really good? Capo, Cam, Santana and Zekey tell the story in Harlem. 90 minutes of straight Dipset talk, hosted by Miss Info as part of the Red Bull Music Academy 2011 World Tour’s NYC stop, ‘Five Out Of Five’.

Artists need their people. Gimel ‘Young Guru’ Keaton is Jay-Z’s people. When the rap-conquering MC and world-conquering mogul steps into the booth (as he continues to do, despite frequent retirement threats), Young Guru is outside, at the board, making sure Hova sounds good. Since 1999 – a staggering twelve years – this has been the way of things. Along the way, Guru has recorded pretty much every other A-list MCs. Some say he has the Midas touch. Watch as he speaks on doing what you love first and foremost, and a couple tricks of the trade.

Last week Young Guru chopped it up with Sumit of The Hip Hop Chronicle UK.

The conversation starts with Guru breaking down his history into the game, working with Bad Boy, Chucky Thompson and Deric “D-Dot” Angelettie. In 1999, the Delaware native began work on the Mad Rapper album with D-Dot.

Before joining Roc-A-Fella, Guru had already worked with Busta Rhymes, Eminem, and 50 Cent.
