Just Blaze and Young Guru sit down for an exclusive conversation on Hard Knock TV. The interview starts of with Young Guru asking Just Blaze about his new song Higher and about making transition from Hip Hop into EDM. Just Blaze says that he has always made electronic beats but that he didn’t always have a place to release those beats which were often ahead of their times. Thomas Wesley Pentz better known by his stage name Diplo, is a Philadelphia-based American DJ, producer, and songwriter. He also founded and manages record company Mad Decent.

IMS had the pleasure of inviting Diplo to be interviewed by Joshua Glazer (Urb). A artist that has pushed the boundaries in all aspects of the music business from being one of the first social media advocators on twitter, staring in a blackberry commercial, producing for Beyonce to giving away free music as a means of promotion. He tells the IMS audience how he started it all and where hes going to take it.

“WHAT about an audiobook?” Pharrell Williams asked, sitting at the head of a conference table at the Park Avenue South offices of Rizzoli as he looked at the nearly finished galleys for an October release called “Pharrell: Places and Spaces I’ve Been.”

Here was a lavish coffee-table book filled with images of the many products he has designed in collaboration with other artists and fashion designers, and interviews between Mr. Williams and the likes of Jay-Z, Anna Wintour and Zaha Hadid, which do not exactly lend themselves to the narrative treatment. But why not?


In this episode Pete Rock, the legendary DJ and producer for rappers like Nas, Notorious B.I.G, and members of the Wu-Tang Clan, talks about his early days with cousin Heavy D, his love of funk, and a rare Marvin Gaye record.


Very interesting,actually makes good points and latter in the video he also actually gives good advice about releasing music and the right outlet.
